I am a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist working with adults and youth. For the past 20-years I have worked in diverse roles and settings, including: academic lecturer, trainer, researcher, consultant, and clinical psychologist in private practice. I work across community, clinical and forensic settings. I was previously employed as the Lead Psychologist at ACON (Aids Council of NSW) Australia’s largest community-based LGBTI and HIV health promotion agency. I continue to work closely with the LGBTIQ community in Northern NSW, including expertise in working within a sex and gender positive framework.

My approach to therapy is integrative drawing on contemporary cognitive and behavioural therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness principles. Additionally, my practice is grounded in psychodynamic and relational systems. The foundation of the therapeutic relationship is a human interaction that offers the potential for greater insight and acceptance of our shared human experience, including the highs and lows of this. Therapy can teach us to hold our stories of self and other more lightly.

“The curious paradox of life is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” (Rogers, 1961)
